Food Labeling at Meetings and Events

PCMA Convening Leaders 2023 Convention

Transcript

Another observation Sunday. How many of you ate food here? How many of you saw food labeled? If you saw food labeled with vegan or nuts or peanuts, raise your hand. Did some of you see Sunday that some of the food was labeled? It was not all well labeled. I know you and I were at Jeni's in line and we saw there was a Texas chocolate sheet cake that had the symbols DF (dairy free). So Jeni's actually did have an ice cream dairy free. But when I debrief the next day I go, "Why wasn't all the food labeled?" So what we'll do, maybe if we have time today or you at lunch, go look around and see if they've done a better job. Because the word got out after Sunday that all food should have the labels for nuts, for seeds, for vegan, for all kinds of dietary restrictions to help people that are allergic.
